About the Tour in Venice
The intimate, typically, unseen side of Venetian art will be the focus of the upcoming tour as well as more well known works such as St. Marks Cathedral. Venice has many great works of painting hidden in small, not often not seen churches, by the casual tourist. You will stay in small authentic pensiones, which will provide a rich additional experience.
This is also a painting/drawing holiday for those who want to sketch. It will be suitable for beginners as well as the professional. Individual needs will be met and personal exploration and development will be encouraged. The subject of the work need not be representational of Venetian imagery, although it certainly can be. It need only be the work that you want to explore, of any genre and simply allowing Venice to be the jumping off point, or inspiration, if you will for the work. Non artists need not be concerned, as Venice is a city unparalleled which transports one to another time and the city, its people, music, art and architecture, cuisine, etc. are a constant challenge. Individuals will have ample time to explore the fine local cuisine, galleries, palaces, water tours, quiet walking tours and museums.
Oriented for beginners and more advanced art lovers Art in Venice offers the traveler a deeper understanding of the visual context of the art in order to interpret this great art in terms of the visual language and content.
Fees will include lectures, discussions, critiques, accommodations, hotel breakfast, airport transfers, museum and vaporetto passes. Groups will be no more then 10 persons in order to maintain a small personal experience.
This year’s trip will be for 10 days and 10 nights from Thursday March 1, 2012 – Sunday March 11. In the future, Art in Venice will also visit other major art centers such as Rome, Florence, Paris, Nice and Amsterdam.
